This is a handled Atoma diamond plate at four hundred grit, made specifically for stone flattening. The listing recommends the handled version for anyone using diamond plates mainly for stone conditioning: the grip makes it easy to keep the plate moving so it does not stick to the stone the way a flat plate can once mud develops. Manufactured by Tsuboman, the Atoma plate has the diamond abrasive electro-bonded to a thin steel sheet that tapes onto an aluminium base, so the abrasive sheet is replaceable on its own. The abrasive sits in an array of small dots with space between them for water to escape, which helps the plate from sticking to the stone. The listing gives the plate size as 210mm x 75mm.
Rinse the plate after use and let it dry so the steel does not rust.
