This is an old-fashioned whisky glass by Tatsuya Nemoto, cut with a butterfly in blue.
As with the workshop's peacock glass, a butterfly asks more of the cutter than a repeating geometric pattern, since the wings have to read as a matched pair from opposite sides of the glass rather than as an even repeat around it.
Nemoto Glass is a small family workshop built around one rule: never rush the polishing, a habit carried down through three generations of the same family. It's built for whisky on ice or neat.
Wash it by hand in warm water with a soft sponge, never a scourer, and give it two rinses so no soap film dulls the cut. Keep it out of the dishwasher and away from sudden changes in temperature.
Most of our products are handmade in Japan, and sometimes the one that you receive maybe slightly different to the photo. This is very common and in no way it will affect the performance of the product.
