This is a Mino-ware grey crackle glaze plate with kairagi texture: a soft grey ceramic plate whose crackle resembles fish scales or frost, sized for desserts, sides and small entrees.
The listing ties the kairagi crackle to wabi-sabi: the pattern forms from natural tension between clay and glaze during high-temperature firing, and no two surfaces repeat.
The maker says it is dishwasher and microwave safe.
