This is a Hechimon mug and saucer in Shigaraki stoneware under a warm brown glaze, at one hundred and eighty millilitres.
The listing describes the brown glaze flowing across the surface into organic patterns unique to each piece. Shigaraki ware comes from Shigaraki-cho in Koka City, Shiga, and is counted among Japan's six oldest kilns and a recognised traditional craft. Its feldspar-rich clay picks up scarlet fire marks and a natural ash glaze in the wood kiln, so the surface varies from piece to piece. The name Hechimon is a Shigaraki craftsman's term for something that feels unusual or unique, and the workshop leans into that: each vessel keeps its own expression.
The mug is sized for a coffee or tea with the saucer beneath, boxed for gifting. Microwave safe; hand washing is recommended.
Most of our products are handmade in Japan, and sometimes the one that you receive maybe slightly different to the photo. This is very common and in no way it will affect the performance of the product.
