This is a Hyoen Tenmoku sake cup by the Kyoto ceramic artist Daisuke Hashimoto, a wide, shallow cup whose glaze the listing sets between cool blues and warm amber tones.
The source explains the terms plainly: Tenmoku names a high-iron glaze that first appeared in China during the Song dynasty and was taken up by Kyoto potters, and yohen names the natural kiln effects, oil spots and shifting reflections, that precise firing pulls out of it. Hyoen, ice and flame, is Hashimoto's own take on that tradition. The listing calls the body high-fired ceramic with a matte Tenmoku glaze and says each item is handmade with slight differences in size, colour and pattern.
The cup comes in a wood gift box. The maker says it is not safe for the microwave or the dishwasher.
