This is an Ikenaga cast iron kettle with a one-thousand-millilitre capacity, for boiling water on gas or direct fire.

Ikenaga continues the Nambu ironware tradition of Iwate, casting pieces by traditional methods. The enamel-lined interior wipes clean easily, and the maker says the surface gains character the longer it is used. This model's handle does not fold down, and the maker warns that both body and handle get hot in use, so potholders are needed.

Wash by hand with no detergent, sponge or brush. The heating note is gas or direct fire.

Most of our products are handmade in Japan, and sometimes the one that you receive maybe slightly different to the photo. This is very common and in no way it will affect the performance of the product.
