This is a Kakunaka Akane leaf-shaped bowl, a large hand-crafted ceramic bowl, twenty-four centimetres long and seven deep, that holds saucy dishes without spilling them.
The listing puts it forward for generous portions of salad and stir-fry, with the depth keeping sauces and gravies contained. The leaf form is the whole decoration. Made in Japan.
The maker says it is dishwasher safe and microwave safe.
