This is a long brass incense holder from Kousaido, a slim piece made to hold one stick of incense while it burns.
The listing gives it as brass, fifteen and a half by four by two centimetres, made in Japan, one holder to the pack.
Light the tip of the stick, blow the flame out so the ember smoulders, and rest the holder on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts, never left burning unattended.
