About Kuro Yuteki
Kuro Yuteki refers to a classic Japanese glazing technique known as black oil-spot glaze, originally inspired by the famed Tenmoku ceramics of ancient China. During high-temperature firing, this glaze forms shimmering, metallic speckles across the surface—each pattern beautifully unique and born of the kiln's natural alchemy.
This large plate features an irregular, organically shaped rim, adding a sense of movement and handcrafted charm. The subtle undulations and asymmetry are not flaws, but intentional design elements that embrace the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi—finding beauty in imperfection and natural form.
