This is a Kuro Yuteki irregular-edge large plate: a black oil-spot glaze over a hand-shaped ceramic plate with an organically uneven rim, made for mains, composed salads and shared plates.
Kuro yuteki is the classic glazing technique inspired by Tenmoku ceramics: during high-temperature firing the glaze throws shimmering metallic speckles, different on every piece. The listing is direct about the rim's undulations being intentional, not flaws.
The maker says it is dishwasher and microwave safe.
