This is a Kutani-ware couple set in a floral pattern: two bowls and two cups, each in a larger and a smaller size.
Kutani ware comes from the Kutani region of Ishikawa Prefecture, a porcelain tradition back to the 17th century, known for bold multicoloured overglaze enamels and detailed decoration of landscapes, birds and flowers. The couple format, one bowl and cup slightly bigger than the other, is the classic Japanese gift for a household of two.
The bowls are eleven and a half cm and ten and a half cm across, and the cups stand 9 cm and 8 cm tall. It comes in a paper gift box.
The listing says hand wash only, and not safe for the microwave.
