This is a small Mino teapot with a tokusa linework pattern, holding two hundred and twenty millilitres and made for brewing Japanese green tea for one or two.
The listing describes hand-painted vertical lines in deep indigo as an interpretation of the tokusa motif, a plant symbol associated with resilience and simplicity, over an ivory-toned speckled glaze. It is high-fired stoneware from the Mino region of Gifu, with a slender side handle for a one-handed pour and a built-in stainless steel strainer. The named teas are sencha, genmaicha and gyokuro.
The maker recommends hand washing, and says each piece is handmade so subtle differences show.
