This is a Mino-ware Yohen Gold Accent plate: a medium ceramic plate with a kiln-altered glaze cut through by hand-applied golden stripes, sized for appetizers, plated desserts and small mains.
Yohen means the kiln does the drawing: flecks of charcoal, iron and bronze surface unpredictably in the firing, and no two plates match. The plate is handcrafted in Gifu, in the Mino ware tradition.
The listing recommends hand washing and keeps this one out of the microwave.
