This is a bamboo leaf plate from Nousaku, a long narrow tin dish for sushi, sashimi and side dishes, and it is bendable, so you can curve it to the shape of the table.
It is solid tin, cast in the Takaoka copperware tradition of Toyama, which Nousaku has carried on for over four hundred years. The leaf shape is the whole design: a serving line rather than a flat round.
The plate measures about twenty-one and a half centimetres long and suits a row of sushi or a line of appetisers. It is not safe in the dishwasher or the microwave, which is the normal rule for tin, and it comes in a Nousaku paper gift box.
Most of our products are handmade in Japan, and sometimes the one that you receive maybe slightly different to the photo. This is very common and in no way it will affect the performance of the product.
