This is the Nousaku Moon sake cup in tin, finished with gold leaf on the crescent inside, so the moon appears when you pour.
Nousaku casts its tinware at Takaoka in Toyama, in the centuries-old Takaoka copperware tradition. The listing describes the collaboration: the gold leaf on the crescent moon is applied by a craftsman in Kanazawa, the city's other signature craft. The maker says tin has been used for sake and tea since ancient times, that it takes the harsh edge off alcohol, and that a minute or two in the fridge lets the cup chill the drink as the ice melts.
Not safe for the microwave or the dishwasher.
Most of our products are handmade in Japan, and sometimes the one that you receive maybe slightly different to the photo. This is very common and in no way it will affect the performance of the product.
