This is a Sakura Shino leaf-shaped large plate: an oval serving plate finished in Shino glaze, made for shared dishes, seasonal vegetables and centrepiece plating.
The form is a woodland leaf and the colour comes from sakura, the cherry-blossom palette: Shino is the revered Japanese glaze family, warm and milky with soft blushes of peach or pink that pool in the leaf's curves and veins.
The maker says it is dishwasher and microwave safe.
