Satsuma Kiriko Legged Sake Glass - Cut 202 (Azure Gold Red)
$666.00
Imported directly from Japan.

This is a Satsuma Kiriko whisky glass, cut with the fish-roe, nanako, pattern in two-tone colour.
Nanako is named for its rows of small, rounded facets, meant to look like fish roe caught in light. On most Satsuma Kiriko the colour is shaved away from the rim down; here it flows the other way, from the rim into the pattern itself, so two colours blend inside the same nanako field rather than sitting side by side.
This is Satsuma Kiriko, cut in Kagoshima rather than Tokyo. The colour skin is left thick enough that a cut fades softly into the clear underneath instead of stopping in a hard line, the gradation called bokashi. It's a heavy glass built for whisky, on the rocks or with water.
Wash it by hand in warm water with a soft sponge, never a scourer, and give it two rinses so no soap film dulls the cut. Keep it out of the dishwasher and away from sudden changes in temperature.
Most of our products are handmade in Japan, and sometimes the one that you receive maybe slightly different to the photo. This is very common and in no way it will affect the performance of the product.
