This is an Iga-ware teapot with a rusty tokusa finish, at four hundred millilitres, supplied with its own strainer.
The listing describes Iga ware at length: clay from the old lake bed of the Iga region in Mie, highly porous and fired hard enough for the open flame, marked by scorch from the fire, fine kannyu cracks, and glassy green biidoro spots where ash melted in the kiln. Rusty tokusa is the finish the title names, and this pot is sold as Iga-ware with that history on its own page.
Hand washing is recommended, and the handmade note applies.
Most of our products are handmade in Japan, and sometimes the one that you receive maybe slightly different to the photo. This is very common and in no way it will affect the performance of the product.
