About Arita Ware (有田焼, Arita-yaki)

Rooted in over 400 years of tradition, Arita ware (有田焼, Arita-yaki) is a celebrated form of Japanese porcelain from Arita, Saga Prefecture, Kyushu. Renowned for its exquisite craftsmanship, delicate forms, and vibrant hand-painted designs, Arita ware embodies a perfect blend of artistry and functionality. Inspired by Chinese porcelain techniques in the early 17th century, it became one of Japan’s first porcelains to reach global markets, often exported under the name Imari ware.

Today, Arita ware continues to evolve, combining time-honored techniques with contemporary aesthetics, making it a symbol of elegance and heritage in fine ceramics.
