This is a Banko-ware grilled mandarin pot, a small clay pot built for one winter pleasure: warming a mandarin over heat.
You set the fruit inside and warm it, the skin releases its fragrance, and the flesh turns soft, sweet and juicy. The source calls it a nostalgic way to enjoy the cosy taste of winter at home. The name puts it among the pottery of the Banko kilns, and the set comes as the pot with a small plate.
The listing gives no care line, so hand wash is safest, and like all clay it should cool before it meets water.
