This is an Edo Kiriko whisky glass by Junichi Nabetani, cut with the Seiryu, flowing-stream, pattern.
Seiryu combines a hexagonal basket-weave cut, rokkaku-kagome, with the hemp-leaf asanoha pattern, run continuously around the glass in a smooth, rounded shape rather than the sharper-edged glasses this workshop is better known for.
Nabetani Glass Crafts is a family workshop in Tokyo's Ota ward, cut on crystal that comes from Kagami and from Fukagawa Glass. It sits comfortably in the hand, and the rounded cuts move light gradually rather than in sharp flashes as you turn it.
Wash it by hand in warm water with a soft sponge, never a scourer, and give it two rinses so no soap film dulls the cut. Keep it out of the dishwasher and away from sudden changes in temperature.
Most of our products are handmade in Japan, and sometimes the one that you receive maybe slightly different to the photo. This is very common and in no way it will affect the performance of the product.
