This is a Mino-ware brushed multi-purpose bowl, a mid-size ceramic bowl with brush marks circling the form.
The listing describes it as hand-thrown, with delicate brush marks and gentle ridges under a layered glaze, fired at high temperature in natural, muted tones. Mino is the pottery district of eastern Gifu, and the name marks where a piece was made rather than how it looks.
The shape is deliberately general: rice, noodles, soups, stews and grain bowls all work. The maker says it is dishwasher and microwave safe, and each handmade piece varies slightly.
