This is an Ikenaga Nambu cast iron trivet in a cherry blossom shape, a stand for setting hot pots and pans on at the table.

The listing calls it Nambu ironware, made one by one by traditional methods in Iwate Prefecture, with a cast iron body on rubber legs and an easy-to-clean inner enamel finish. It is sixteen point five centimetres across and 2.1 cm tall, and comes in an Ikenaga paper gift box.

Hand wash only. The maker adds that wiping the iron with a cloth while it is still hot brings up its luster, and that the texture changes the longer the piece is used.

Most of our products are handmade in Japan, and sometimes the one that you receive maybe slightly different to the photo. This is very common and in no way it will affect the performance of the product.
