This is the Imanishi Kitayama finishing stone at eight thousand grit, in the popular baseless form. The listing calls it a favourite among carbon steel lovers: it is not extremely quick on modern alloy steels, but works extremely well on traditional steels like White and Blue, brings out the contrast between core and cladding, and gives a very nice even finish, particularly for wide-bevel sharpening.
The baseless version keeps shipping weight and cost down, and you can sharpen on either side of the stone. It needs about fifteen minutes of soaking before use.
Let the stone air dry fully after use, and store it only once it is dry through.
