This is the KOTORIN Sakura, a handbell from Yamaguchi Kyujo that takes the cherry blossom as its subject.
The bell is cast from a fine copper alloy with a luminous gold finish, and the design uses Takaoka raden, a traditional mother-of-pearl inlay, to catch the blossom. The pendulum is carved from natural hematite, and the frame is lightweight aluminium, in white or black.
Yamaguchi Kyujo has cast bells and chimes in Takaoka, Toyama for over a century, and this one is made to ring through daily rituals and works well as a gift, and it comes in a Kyujo paper gift box. It comes in a Kyujo paper gift box.
The listing gives no care note; a dry wipe keeps the gold and the inlay bright.
