This is a flat bowl from the Mino-ware Indigo Drip series, a wide stoneware bowl with a layered reactive glaze.
The listing describes a multi-layered glaze that lets indigo, amber and earth tones flow and merge across each piece, over a hand-textured interior, fired high so the glaze pools differently every time. Mino is the pottery district of eastern Gifu, and the name marks where a piece was made rather than how it looks. The series has siblings if you want more than the flat bowl.
The open shape suits noodles, salads and everyday meals. The maker says it is dishwasher and microwave safe.
