This is the rice bowl size of the Mino-ware Sprout Pattern series, a porcelain bowl in the mebae design, sold in a small and a large size.

Mebae means sprouting or budding, and the listing describes soft blue leaves unfolding across the surface, a design tied to new beginnings with a deliberately lightweight feel.

The series is made in Toki, in the Mino district of eastern Gifu, and matching plates, bowls and a tea cup are listed alongside. The maker says this bowl is dishwasher and microwave safe.

Most of our products are handmade in Japan, and sometimes the one that you receive maybe slightly different to the photo. This is very common and in no way it will affect the performance of the product.
