This is Mainichi Byakudan, Nippon Kodo's everyday sandalwood incense, a big box of sticks built for daily burning rather than an occasion.

Byakudan means sandalwood, and the blend pairs high-quality Indian sandalwood with subtle herbal spices for a smooth, calming fragrance.

Nippon Kodo is the incense house behind it, founded in Kyoto over four hundred years ago and now based in Tokyo. Nippon Kodo suggests it for winding down, reading, meditating or a long bath.

The sticks are thirteen and a half centimetres long, burn for about twenty minutes, and the box holds one hundred and fifty, with no holder included. There is nothing to wash here; let the ash cool in the holder before emptying it and give the room some air.

Most of our products are handmade in Japan, and sometimes the one that you receive maybe slightly different to the photo. This is very common and in no way it will affect the performance of the product.
