This is the RINCENSE, a Yamaguchi Kyujo piece that pairs a traditional orin singing bowl with an incense holder, so one object gives you both a struck tone and a burning stick.
The cup is shaped to suggest flower petals, and it comes in two finishes: a silver palladium-plated orin with polished brass, or a black orin with intricate engravings over pearl-coated brass. Both are made from copper alloy and brass, with a zelkova wood tip on the mallet.
Yamaguchi Kyujo was founded in Takaoka, Toyama, and has cast bells and chimes there for over a century. The set includes the bowl, a mallet, a felt mat and a mini incense pack, in a paper gift box, which makes it an easy present for someone who meditates or just likes a quiet room.
The listing gives no washing note, so keep it to a wipe and let the ash cool before emptying the holder.
