This is a Matsubara Blue 2 Bunka 170mm, a hand-forged carbon knife with a nashiji finish, with the pointed bunka tip for detail work around the board.
Shu Matsubara's knives are hand forged in Nagasaki, and the listing says the marks of that are easy to see: a floating cladding line, a textured surface and a tapered spine. The nashiji pear-skin finish here is made by wire-brushing the forged surface so the texture of the steel stays visible under a light oxide layer, which the listing notes also makes the finish very forgiving of use. Under it is a Blue 2 carbon steel core at HRC61 to HRC63 under stainless cladding, the cladding the listing calls a real plus for day-to-day usability. The listing adds the knives run heavier and a touch taller than their category average, for cooks who like a knife that feels substantial.
The listing's spec table puts this one at a 170mm edge and 152g, on an octagonal burnt kashi handle.
Wash and dry the blade as you finish cooking and oil the exposed carbon edge before long storage, keep it out of the dishwasher to protect the wood handle, and sharpen it on a waterstone.
