This is a Yamada mini whisky glass cut with the Sazanami, ripples, pattern.
Sazanami pairs two cuts on the one glass: bold, deep lines that read as wind-driven waves, and the older seigaiha wave motif worked in finer, repeating arcs, the two meeting at a smooth rim rather than a hard join.
Yamada Glass is one of the Tokyo houses we buy from on every trip, known for putting its own new names on the classic cuts. It's a smaller pour than the standard whisky glass in this cut, good for a short measure or for sake.
Wash it by hand in warm water with a soft sponge, never a scourer, and give it two rinses so no soap film dulls the cut. Keep it out of the dishwasher and away from sudden changes in temperature.
