This is a double sided leather strop that carries both cuts on one board: a second layer cowhide side for low to medium grit deburring, and a first layer cowhide side for the final high grit pass on knives and razors. The listing describes both sides as suitable for loading polishing compounds, and the combo ships with a green polishing compound pre-mixed in a bottle of mineral oil.
Like the other strops in this range, it is made from Argentine vegetable tanned leather. Deburring is the step that removes the wire edge raised during sharpening, and stropping on leather is the traditional way to do it.
Keep the leather clean and dry, and store the strop flat.
