This is a Kutani-ware serving bowl with a red-painted rabbit, an eighteen centimetre bowl big enough to serve from rather than eat from.

The listing's About section places Kutani ware in Kutani, now part of Kaga in Ishikawa Prefecture, from the seventeenth century, known for vibrant overglaze enamels in red, green, yellow, blue and purple, with a five-colour style called gosai-de. This bowl is hand-painted, and the maker says each piece shows subtle differences. It arrives in a Kutani paper gift box.

The listing says it is microwave safe, with hand washing recommended.

Most of our products are handmade in Japan, and sometimes the one that you receive maybe slightly different to the photo. This is very common and in no way it will affect the performance of the product.
