This is a pair of Kutani-ware rice bowls, one blue and one white, in the Tetsusen Arabesque design sold as a boxed set.
The listing's About section places Kutani ware in Kutani, now part of Kaga in Ishikawa Prefecture, from the seventeenth century, known for vibrant overglaze enamels in red, green, yellow, blue and purple. This pair gives the two bowls in slightly different sizes, the blue bowl a touch larger than the white. The maker says each piece is handcrafted with subtle differences, and the pair arrives in a Kutani-ware paper gift box.
The listing says neither bowl is safe for the microwave or the dishwasher. Hand wash is safest.
