This is an Arita-ware Fuchihana flat plate, a rimless porcelain dinner plate with a crisp off-white centre and a radial indigo pattern reaching toward a scalloped edge.
Fuchihana means rim flower, and the listing reads the open flat surface as plating space for arranged food: sashimi, cheese, canapes or dessert. The ware is placed in Arita, Saga Prefecture, in an About section dating the tradition at over four hundred years and noting the old Imari export name. Each piece is hand-painted, so the pattern varies slightly. A matching small saucer in the series is linked from the listing.
The maker says it is dishwasher safe and microwave safe.
