This is a set of four Hirota Glass cherry blossom plates from the Hanahonoka series, each piece a different size, from a small bowl up to a deep plate.
The listing describes Hanahonoka as a softly shimmering sakura motif in glass, and puts the four sizes to work across sauces, small bites, appetizers, desserts and fruit. The sizes run from a small bowl of seven and a half centimetres to a big plate of twenty-one. Hirota Glass's page places the company in Tokyo, founded in eighteen ninety-nine, known for Edo Kiriko cut glass and blown glass. Each piece is handcrafted, so small air bubbles can occur, which the maker counts as character.
The listing says the set is not recommended for the microwave or the dishwasher. Hand wash is safest. It arrives in a Hirota paper gift box.
