This is a Hechimon Shigaraki demi cup with a white tag design, a small two-hundred-millilitre cup offered in brown and white.
The listing carries the Shigaraki history as its own background: a ware from Shigaraki-cho in Koka City, Shiga, among Japan's six old kilns with over twelve hundred years behind it, made from feldspar- and quartz-rich clay that takes scarlet hi-iro fire marks and natural ash glaze. Hechimon, the line's name, is an old Shigaraki term for something wonderfully odd. Each piece is handcrafted with slight variations.
The maker says the cup is dishwasher safe and microwave safe. It arrives in a Shigaraki paper gift box.
